Outer Alliance Pride Day

In a world where religious leaders pray for the death and eternal damnation of our American president; where genre luminaries crusade against equal rights under the law and post comparisons (the coward has removed his original post, so a link about that post provided.) between our GLBT family & friends and such things as bestiality and pedophilia; in a world in which history, morality, the science class room, courtesy and common sense have been usurped by those who would dictate their views to anyone who differs from them, the Outer Alliance formed.

The Republican's Great White Hope, Gay Marriage, Hunting Obama, Lies Lies Lies Threats Ugliness (and dangerous ignorance): here is the world that we live in and that we stand ready to hand off to the next generation.

One step at a time, we bring knowledge, understanding, and humanity to these places where hate, lies, and ignorance would reign. Nothing in the above is tangential. They are all symptoms of the sickness rotting away at us. This idea that You mean nothing to Me and insofar as you are different, you are my enemy.

Here is the Outer Alliance Mission Statement:
As a member of the Outer Alliance, I advocate for queer speculative fiction and those who create, publish and support it, whatever their sexual orientation and gender identity. I make sure this is reflected in my actions and my work.
I have a story in the M-Brane SF 'Things We Are Not" GLBT anthology; the title story infact, which I am profoundly honored to note. I've including just a tiny sample of the story below.

Please take a moment to click on the mission statement and join the Alliance.

Here is a sample from 'things we are not...':

Thank you.

You know, they say all cats need to rule the world are opposable thumbs. Perhaps all crows need to to the same are books...

  3. What a great post. I love the image--it was somehow really exciting to see a piece of the story presented like that. I am even more excited about finally getting it out in the antho!

  6. Good post. Before joining the Outer Alliance, I didn't realize there was a queer anthology in the works. I'll make sure to get the anthology when it's out.

  7. Alan,

Thanks for stopping by. There are a fseveral cool projects coming soon from other Outer Alliance members and the GLBT SF&F community at large. I definitely want to hype M-Brane SF's Things We Are Not, and just thought I would note that it is in good company. :)
